A new collaborative partnership

Commsortia is a new registered charity and company limited by guarantee set up to facilitate voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) groups coming together to deliver larger and more complex services and contracts than they could on their own. Commsortia will provide a means to combine the member organisation's expertise, knowledge and experience to deliver high-quality services for local communities.

Commsortia will provide a single point of contracting for commissioners who want to contract out services to local VCSE provider organisations. The organisation has been developed by a working group whose members come from a broad range of VCSE sector organisations and will shortly be ready to welcome new members to Commsortia.

Who is involved?

There are eight founding members, each of which sit on the Commsortia Board: Age UK Northamptonshire, Central and East Northamptonshire Citizens Advice Bureau, Northamptonshire CDA Limited (trading as Enterprise Solutions Northamptonshire), Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire, Northamptonshire Carers, Northamptonshire Community Foundation, Northamptonshire Credit Union, Northamptonshire Rights and Equality Council.

Four further organisations are members of the Steering Group that launched Commsortia and they remain closely involved by providing advice and support to the Board: Groundwork Northamptonshire, Nene Valley Community Action, Northamptonshire ACRE and South Northants Volunteer Bureau.

How to become a member

Commsortia membership is open to all VCSE sector organisations established in Northamptonshire. The first membership application round will open on 1st June 15 and close at 5pm on 17th July 15
